Welcome to Fall

This week was the official beginning of fall and last night it was really starting to feel like it! For a couple weeks the walnut trees around here have been steadily dropping their leaves, but with temps in the upper 70's and low 80's it felt like mid summer. We even postponed closing the pool because of the nice days, but now the leaves are falling faster, trees are beginning to change color, and it's rainy, damp and cool. Tomorrow we will cover the pool and say good-bye to summer and hello fall! I do love the cooler temps and color in the trees and bundling up in sweaters and jackets while sitting around a campfire. I guess every season has it's blessings!

Last Saturday marked the beginning of the fall Holy Day season for our church with the observance of the Feast of Trumpets and this coming Monday will be the day of Attonement. Then Saturday begins our annual fall convention called the Feast of Tabernacles, or just the "feast" as it's often shortened to! This is the highlight of the year for us, and we really look forward to it. For my readers unfamiliar with these holy days, they and the others we keep can be found in Lev. 23, Deut. 16, and Luke 6, just to name a few places in the bible. Again, we aren't Jewish but keep many of the same days the Jews keep because we see them recorded in the bible and Jesus kept them and since He is our example we feel we should observe them also.

That's about it for this week's recap. It was pretty quiet around here just doing all the basics that we do most every week.
