And We Make Four

This afternoon Ken went looking for his digital camera and remembered he had left it on the front seat of the van Wednesday after going to look at a potential property. He went out into the garage and came back shortly with a puzzled look on his face. He didn't find the camera in the van. We searched the house high and low and it is not here. The only conclusion is that we have become the fourth (that we know of for sure) victim in Shirland to have had their vehicle burglarized in the last 6 weeks. Our garage door broke two weeks ago and we haven't been able to shut it so it made it easy for someone to enter. The other thefts have also been from vehicles. We called and reported it and the police said an officer would be out to get the information shortly. That was at 4pm. At 9pm we got a call that the officer would be stopping out shortly! Good thing it wasn't an emergency! He took all the information and said that because the theft was from a vehicle in a garage which is attached to a house it now becomes a residential burglary which carries a higher priority than a plain theft from a vehicle in a driveway. We are really frustrated to have this problem in our quiet little community! I shouldn't have to lock my vehicle doors in Shirland!

Bummer of a way for the week to be ending. We are looking forward to tomorrow, though, as we have reserved the curling rink where Ken and the boys curl, and have invited family and friends for a potluck and evening of curling and cards.
