My mom saw an idea in a magazine for a unique quilt last year and decided to spend the winter making it. It is a handkerchief quilt. It's made from a bunch of old handkerchiefs that she had as well as some from another lady at church. The handkerchiefs are folded to look like butterflies and they really do! The project turned out beautifully and she decided to enter it in the open competition at our county fair this month and she ended up winning a blue ribbon and the Superintendents Choice ribbon, which is second place overall I think. Way to go, Mom!
